2026 – Creating the New YOU

Every year, we set new intentions about who we want to become.

Yet most people fall back into old patterns before the end of January.
Not because they lack goals or systems,
but because you don’t fail to the level of your goals.
You fail to the identity you carry about yourself and what you believe you’re capable of.

After a wonderful Christmas back home with my family, I spent time reflecting on the stories I need to let go of in 2026,  and who I need to become. I realized that the version of me that succeeded in 2025 isn’t the version of me that will ascend in 2026.

Self-awareness is the real panacea. It gives us the ability to rise above our current reality and consciously shape the life we want to live. Knowing your deficits isn’t a weakness; it’s a superpower,  because it gives you more choice moving forward.

The truth is simple.

If you want to change your life and your reality in 2026, you must change your identity and align it with the vision of who you are becoming. Letting go will bring resistance, because the brain loves what is familiar,  but that’s where true self-mastery lies.

Ask yourself:

  • What stories no longer serve me?
  • What habits do I need to let go of?
  • What beliefs are holding me back?

I anchor everything in vision, which is why it’s the first thing I create with every new client. Goals are one-dimensional,  they focus on a specific target that will eventually need to move. A vision, however, encompasses all areas of life and evolves with you, becoming the compass for every decision you make.

Consider:

  • What would I like my life to look like five years from now?
  • How do I see myself in that vivid movie?
  • What is my inner dialogue like?
  • What have I accomplished?

This becomes the foundation for reshaping your self-concept,  giving your brain new expectations and a new filter for reality.

Actionable Steps

  • Create your five-year life vision
  • Write a list of what you need to let go of (stories, beliefs, patterns, habits)
  • Create your 2026 “to-be” list

Then spend your days intentionally stepping into that new identity.

When you fall off, be grateful for the awareness and take the next step forward in faith. Neuroscience shows us that the brain can be trained like a muscle,  meaning we can create the life we want with intention, discipline, and consistency.

It’s not about doing more.
It’s about overcoming, and becoming.
